Aroeira Challenge Golf Course, opened in April 2000. Its architect, Donald Steel, was careful to comply with the recommendations of the European Tour and draw a field thinking about future Opens in Portugal. With 18 long greens that surround 5 great lakes, the tees on each hole allow the course to be played by all levels of players. Host for several years of the Qualifying School of the Ladies European Tour and the various editions of the Ladies Open of Portugal.

Very difficult to find the temporary starting point for this course. There are very few amenities there. Course its self is challenging, lots of water. Condition variable

We had the impression that, due to the works on the Aroeira I course during the last 6 months, the course lacked some maintenance which resulted in poor tee-boxes and average fairways. On the other hand, the greens were in good condition (with a few diseases here and there) and a lot of work has been and continues to be done to clear the small and larger bushes between the trees to make the course more 'open' and receptive to a recovation.ery shot.

The front 9 holes is prety boring, the back 9 was a bit better. Outside the fairways everything looked a bit messy/deteriorated. The clubhouse is a couple minutes drive.

Really enjoyable golf course in a beautiful setting. Facilities a little sparse as the Challenge course is a long way from the main clubhouse. Staff extremely friendly & helpful.

Nice Course with different challenges. Some tight fairways because of tall pine trees. We really enjoyed the pretty water hazards with thriving bird life. Good bunkers and respective greens.

Lovely pine tree lined fairways, quite tight and challenging. The course is in great condition. Water hazards are a feature on many fairways .

Lovely challenging course as the name suggests. Lots of over water shots, that are unnerving for the player not used to a course with so many water hazards.
